G&W Electric is a leading manufacturer of power distribution components. After a major outage, G&W designed an advanced microgrid to make themselves resilient to power disruptions.
Greenleaf helped G&W in its investigation of microgrid technologies and assessment of bill savings and revenue generation opportunities with Intelligent Generation’s cloud based management platform. The final design for the Bolingbrook campus included a 2MW Cellcube Vanadium Flow battery, 1MW flywheel, and a 2.4MW bifacial rooftop solar array. The G&W microgrid was awarded the largest rebate ever distributed by the state of Illinois Climate and Equitable Jobs Act.
Greenleaf worked with G&W Electric to:
- Assess microgrid technologies
- Project ROI for use of intelligently managed energy storage
- Management of project partners
