Greenleaf worked with Gypsoil to develop markets and inform policy on use of FGD Gypsum, an industrial byproduct, for soil improvement and nutrient runoff reduction from agricultural lands as well as reducing materials that are landfilled. This work led to the adoption of an NRCS Conservation Practice Standard.
When GYPSOIL needed help reaching out to environmental groups and policy-makers regarding the benefits of gypsum as an agricultural soil amendment, they came to Greenleaf. We helped promote awareness of gypsum across many sectors with sound science demonstrating the contributions to soil health and decreased phosphorus runoff (a major contributor to algal blooms), leading to an NRCS Conservation Practice Standard.
