Current Opportunity

We are currently seeking mission driven candidates for the following position:

Director of Market Engagement

Location: Remote with periodic in-person meetings and expectation of increased hybrid collaboration over time; Chicago region preferred Type: Full-Time (Greenleaf Advisors)

Role Overview: Build pipeline and close deals with end-market customers for Greenleaf’s sustainable solution clients. Drive commercial adoption of energy, materials, and climate innovations connecting industrial, commercial, institutional, and government customers with proven technologies and capital, if needed to fund their projects. Assist with strategic advisory services to clients. Clients include: Intelligent Generation, Solarge, Earth Knowledge, and Illinois Soy Innovation Center.

Direct report to John Andersen, Founder and President

Key Responsibilities

  • Build pipelines, close deals, and accelerate market penetration that delivers measurable impact for clients and customers alike. 
  • Accountable for revenue growth and commercial outcomes.
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new client and partner relationships across priority sectors.
  • Provide strategic advisory services to Greenleaf clients and collaborate for program/project execution.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, customers, and collaborators.
  • Execute marketing and outreach to build awareness and generate opportunities.
  • Promote Greenleaf and partners through workshops, conferences, webinars, and media.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree or comparable experience in business, sustainability, or related fields
  • 5–10 years in client service, relationship development, revenue generation, project management
  • Mission-driven with expertise in at least one sustainability sector where Greenleaf works (energy, water, land, materials, climate)
  • Proven track record of originating and executing commercial relationships
  • Excellent communication translating complexity into compelling value propositions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with passion for environmental sustainability
  • Home office in the Chicago region strongly preferred; with travel, as needed
